How to prepare Istanbul baklava

  Necessary ingredients of Istanbul baklava syrup

·        Sugar: 2 cups

·        Water: 2 cups

·        Lemon juice: 1 tablespoon

·        Cinnamon: 1 piece

·        Pistachio powder: 2 cups

·        Chopped walnuts: 1 cup

·        Ground cloves: 1/8 teaspoon

·        Granulated sugar: a quarter of a cup

·        Baklava thin dough: 1 package

First, set the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

Put all the necessary ingredients for the baklava core in a suitable container and then stir the ingredients in the container until they are well mixed together.

In the next step, grease the inside of a pyrex dish (any type of mold you want) with the help of melted butter.

Then, with the help of a brush, apply melted butter to 10 layers of thin baklava dough and spread the layers of baklava dough one by one on each other inside the mold.

Pour the Istanbul baklava core ingredients on the baklava doughs and smooth their surface.

Place another 10 layers of baklava dough on top of the baklava core ingredients and spread butter between the dough layers.

Then cut the parts of the dough that have been removed from the pyrex container and then apply butter on all the surface of the dough and cut the upper layers in a rhombus shape with the help of a sharp knife.

Then place the baklava container in the oven for 60 minutes. If you notice that the upper layers of the baklava change color very quickly, put foil on the container.

After 60 minutes, take the baklava out of the oven and pour the saffron syrup over the baklava and let the baklava cool down.

Put it in the refrigerator for 5 hours so that the syrup is well absorbed by the baklava.

To prepare baklava syrup, mix water and sugar together.

After the water reaches boiling temperature, add cinnamon and lemon juice to them.

After the sugar dissolves well in the water, turn off the pot.
